- It has an intense, dark, ruby-red colour. Complex and elegant aromas reflect the wine's character, which includes red fruit, spice, and minerality. The wine is dominated by the velvety and harmonious tannins from the malbec, a complex black fruit that persists in a long and vibrating taste. It is round and velvety, with flavours of ripe black fruit, violets, spices, and tobacco. The finish is long and complex.
Bodega Norton has five vineyards spread over the main terroirs of the province of Mendoza in the foothills of the Andes Mountains, all within a privileged zone known as the First Zone for the quality of its grapes. Geographic location influences the quality of our wines and the age of our vines. Their average age is 30, but many hectares are planted with 80-year-old vines.

Winery | In 1885, the Buenos Aires to Mendoza railway opened, cementing the significance of this emerging wine-growing region high in the Andean foothills. One visitor to Mendoza, an English engineer called Edmund Norton, was so struck by the beauty and potential he saw there that he established a winery bearing his name and 1895 planted the first vines in Mendoza’s Lujan de Cuyo district. Almost a century later, Gernot Langes-Swarovski was similarly struck by Mendoza and its vineyards; in 1989, he acquired Bodega Norton and transformed it into the world-renowned winery it is today. Both men rightly recognized the special nature of the area. The altitude moderates the temperature at 900-1,100 meters while exposing the vines to more ultraviolet light. The result is whites packed with a vibrant flavour, good natural acidity, and well-structured, food-friendly reds. |
