This year, it stands out as exceptionally elegant and alluring as a barrel sample, much like many of the region's well-structured sites.
Clos Vougeot Grand Cru opens in the glass with aromas of wild berries, plums, loamy soil, incense, and rose petals. It's rich, concentrated, medium to full-bodied, deep, and layered, built around a chassis of fine, powdery tannins and lively acids. Like many of the region's more inherently structured sites this year, it's exquisite and seductive as a barrel sample.
