  • It is a deep colour with an expressive nose of black fruits and spices. Sénejac is powerful and intense while remaining smooth, thanks to the finesse of its tannins. It is a charming and distinguished wine that can be drunk young when its fruity aromas are most enjoyable, or, even better, after ageing to discover its terroir's elegance and richness.

The grapes underwent precise manual sorting to ensure only the healthy and perfect berries were vinified before being destemmed and crushed. Fermentation took place in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats with regular pumping over to gently extract colour, flavour, and fine tannins. The wine went through malolactic conversion, resulting in a softer mouthfeel, followed by ageing in French oak barrels for eight to ten months.

A medium-bodied Bordeaux in a smooth and approachable style with aromas of plums and strawberry, complemented by hints of liquorice. Beautifully balanced with silky tannins and roasted notes on the finish.

Chateau Senejac is one of the most beautiful buildings in the region and has a long and fascinating history dating back more than five centuries. Nicolas de Blois, the first known owner of the estate in the sixteenth century, planted the first vines. Several nobles and gentry succeeded de Blois as head of the property, but it was not until Lorraine Cordier, the owner of Chateau Talbot, purchased the estate that new impetus was given to the vineyards. Cordier aimed to establish the estate as one of the best in the Medoc Crus. Following her death in 2011, the property was taken over by her sister, Nancy Bignon-Cordier and her three children. The vineyard is sustainably cultivated and holds the HVE certification.

The vines, which average 35 years old, are grown in deep gravel soils. They yield 45 hectolitres per hectare and are meticulously cultivated, with canopy thinning and green harvesting to encourage the optimal amount of sunlight and concentration in the berries. The grapes are harvested in several triages to ensure they are harvested at the optimal maturity.
