The Cotarella family name is intrinsically linked to some of Italy’s finest wines: Riccardo Cotarella is one of the country’s most revered winemaking consultants, and his brother Renzo is the longstanding chief winemaker at Antinori. Together, they founded the Falesco winery in Lazio in 1979 to showcase local varieties that had fallen from favour.

| Winery | The brothers' 1999 acquisition of an estate in Umbria allowed them to broaden their range further. In 2016, their daughters Dominga, Marta, and Enrica took over the reins. In the same year, they expanded the vineyard holdings into Tuscany, taking over the stunning Le Macioche estate in Brunello di Montalcino. Every family has its roots. For the Famiglia Cotarella, wine is the element that flows through three generations and unites the past, present, and future. A deep bond between the land and the heart has driven the family’s thoughts and ambitions towards new projects since the beginning.
