| Winery | Montmains is a Premier Cru vineyard in Chablis, which stretches along an exposed hillside to the southwest of the town of Chablis itself. It is renowned for producing fresh, elegant wines with good minerality. Maud and her family believe in the ethos of organic farming and minimal intervention; all their vineyards are organically farmed. The Double Guyot trained vines, with an average age of 45 years, are grown in Kimmeridgian soils, rich in clay and limestone with fossilised seashells. The vines are planted at a density of 5,700 vines per hectare, and yields are kept to a maximum of 55 hectolitres per hectare. Maud believes in highlighting terroir and produces her wines in an unoaked style, allowing them to reveal the soil's purity, minerality and vitality. |
