- 2017 is another beautiful vintage for Cuvée Keltie, with a remarkable nose of violets, tobacco, and hot fudge. Fermented with nearly 100% whole clusters from choice sub-sections of vineyards, this edition continues the long tradition of blockbuster Cuvée Keltie bottlings. Cuvée Keltie is a blend from different vineyards around Sonoma County, and the sourcing changes from vintage to vintage. We typically include Syrah from Kobler, Steiner Ranch, and Obsidian vineyards, with Cardiac Hill and Judge as additional sites.
- The nose shows hints of grilled meats, confectionary notes, tobacco, and graphite. On the palate, richness, and structure are in beautiful harmony, creating irresistible litheness.
Cuvee Keltie is a direct result of careful study in the vineyard. Identifying subtle shifts in terroir and personality in the vineyard allows our team to isolate some sections of the vines—sometimes just a few rows or the top of a hill and often in one or two-ton increments. Optimal ripeness in these sections combined with large percentages of whole-cluster creates a wine we relish in. This Syrah is always faithful to its savoury personality. The 2017 presents succulent smoked meats, graphite, mint chocolate, and blackberry flavours with a rich and structured palate. His wine is so beautiful in its youth that it can be hard to resist, but we believe time will reward you with this wine.

With no new oak used in the process, the mouthfeel results from patience and selection. Patience comes from nearly two years in the barrel, which allows for the concentration of flavours and the mellowing of tannin. |
