- White Pepper, Black Plum, Blackberry, Earth, Raspberry, Spice. Deep and dark red. Shiny. Full with a long finish and plenty of elegance and finesse due to the well-balanced tannins and fruit. This classic wine offers top quality year in and year out. Deeply coloured and richly concentrated Cotes du Rhone from one of the most famous producers in the southern Rhone. This wine presents exceptional value and offers a perfect introduction to the classic blended red wines of the Rhone Valley. Made from Syrah, Grenache, and Mourvedre, it is a deep, glossy dark red colour with pronounced fresh red berry aromas and lifted notes of spice. The palate is full, round, and racy, with smooth, soft tannin and rich, intensely aromatic flavours. It is well-balanced and has a lingering finish.
The Rhône Valley stands as one of the most ancient wine regions globally, renowned for its rich history and exceptional viticulture. The Guigal family, boasting a legacy of three generations, has significantly influenced this esteemed region. Their name has become synonymous with top-tier Rhône wines, attributed to their fastidious methodology. Notably, they compensate growers three times higher than the market value for superior grapes and manufacture their barrels to ensure precise ageing processes. Exemplifying a departure from the conventional Southern Rhône blend, this wine incorporates a higher proportion of Syrah, resulting in an exceptionally fruity and warmly spicy profile.

Winery | Guigal remains a family-run, third-generation business and is recognised all over the world. Founded in 1946 by Etienne Guigal, who made a staggering 67 vintages, the winery is situated in the ancient village of Ampuis. Guigal makes wines from grapes in both the northern and southern Rhone Valley and ages these wines in the large cellars at the winery. The methods of viticulture are always in keeping with respect for the terroir and the growing environment. The wines are aged in oak barrels, with their best wines in the cellar ageing in 100% new oak. |
