Abv14.7% - A vibrant and pure Chardonnay with great energy, the medium gold 2021 Chardonnay Three Jacks Vineyard is lifted with flint and dusty earth, as well as lime zest, white pepper, and green apple. Medium-bodied, it has ripe, sweet fruit throughout and a balanced, fresh feel. Offering remarkable evenness in its balance, with floral notes of white flowers and lemon curd continuing through to its long finish, this is my favourite of the whites in the lineup.
The Three Jacks Vineyard Chardonnay exhibits aromas of lemon curd, orange marmalade, and brioche. Its juicy flavours of pear, candied citrus peel, chamomile, and a rich, mineral-driven texture make it full-bodied, weighty, and rich yet remarkably agile on its feet because of its firm underlying acidity.
The 2021 Chardonnays are bright, complex, and layered. Three Jacks Vineyard is a small vineyard in the heart of the Green Valley of Russian River Valley AVA farmed by the Dutton family. Hartford Family Winery has a long history with this vineyard; we bottled it as a designated vineyard from 1999 through 2004 and are delighted to be working again with the fruit, starting with the 2012 vintage.

Winery | The vineyard is located on Graton Road next to the Dutton Shop and is known to most as “Triple JS—the name derived from the partnership of the owners—Joe, Juan, Jose and Steve. It was planted in 1995 to four clonal selections: old Wente, Rued, Dijon 95—clone 15 and 809. The name Three Jacks was coined in a barrel tasting with the 1999 vintage and has stuck ever since. |
