- An intense aroma of ripe Satsuma plum, mocha, vanilla, and savoury notes combined with hints of cedar and sweet spices. Rich, sweet fruit is wonderfully balanced with briary and sweet spices and lovely, silky tannins. This full-bodied, textural wine shows great complexity, with hints of cedar and allspice flowing through to the lengthy, brambly fruit finish.
With a history dating back to 1842, Langmeil Winery is where a blend of Barossa cultural beginnings with world-class winemaking can truly be experienced. Once a trading village settled by German migrant Christian Auricht, this remarkable location forms a captivating pocket of Australian wine history. It is home to what is believed to be the world's oldest Shiraz vineyard, The Freedom 1843. Family-owned and operated by the Lindner family, whose own mark on the region spans six generations, Langmeil today embodies the ideals and experience passed down throughout the generations of Barossa winemakers and grape growers before them.

Winery | The Lindner family has been immersed in the Barossa’s culture of farming, food, and wine for six generations, and their Langmeil winery is a model of the family-run producer. James Lindner is in charge of sales and marketing, while his brother Paul is the chief winemaker; their respective activities are overseen by their parents, Richard and Shirley. The commitment to quality in all aspects is unwavering, and the wines show the assurance and deft touch that only ever come from intimate knowledge of the region. Langmeil is also home to what is believed to be the oldest surviving Shiraz vineyard in the world, planted in 1843 and known as The Freedom 1843. |
