In 2002, Swiss-born winemaker Jean-Claude Martin and his South African spouse, Carolyn, identified an exceptional site on the cool-climate Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge within the esteemed Walker Bay region of South Africa. This area, recognized as one of the most biodiverse regions globally, features virus-free vines that thrive on the steep slopes of Babylonstoren Mountain, growing in ancient quartzite and clay-rich soils while benefiting from the cooling breezes of the nearby Atlantic Ocean.
Creation's winemaking philosophy centres on "expressing the beauty of nature," a principle that emphasizes sustainability in the production of a distinctive portfolio of terroir-reflective and site-specific fine wines, particularly those crafted from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
