Château de Saint Cosme, rich in history, is located in the picturesque southern Rhône appellation of Gigondas and has been under the stewardship of the Barruol family for an impressive 500 years. This long-standing legacy is highlighted by the exceptional talents of Louis Barroul, who took charge of the estate in 1992 as the fourteenth-generation winemaker. Renowned for his expertise, Louis has earned the reputation of being one of the most respected figures in the Rhône Valley, often referred to by his peers as the "Genius of Gigondas."
With a blend of determination, passion, and artistry, Louis Barroul emphasizes the extraordinary potential of the Gigondas terroir in his winemaking. He meticulously crafts outstanding parcellaire cuvées sourced from individual old-vine vineyard plots, allowing each wine to express the unique characteristics of its origin.
