Simpsons Wine Estate
Charles and Ruth Simpson have cultivated exceptional wines in the idyllic South of France since 2002. Intrigued by the extraordinary terroir and the prospect of involvement in one of the most dynamic wine-producing regions globally, the couple repatriated to the UK in 2012 to establish Simpsons Wine Estate. They aspired to produce superlative English wine, prompting them to meticulously plant 30 hectares of vineyards on the renowned chalky terroir of the North Downs and erect a state-of-the-art winery. Aligned with Sustainable Wines of Great Britain, the Simpsons commemorated their inaugural harvest in 2016. Championing the significance of provenance, they have earned acclaim for their exclusive collection of estate-grown stills and sparkling wines. Significantly, their Chalklands Classic Cuvée 2016 was adorned with a gold medal at the 2019 Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championships.

It is a smooth, elegant and complex wine with dark cherry, smoky oak aromas and hints of mocha lifted by tangy, red fruit flavours and coffee undertones. A garnet-hued Pinot Noir displayed strawberry and sweet spice aromas with delicate hints of mocha. Ripe red cherry flavours, tangy acidity, and soft, fine tannins complement the elegant tannins.
