- This Chardonnay opens with notes of fresh-cut pears and orange blossoms that permeate the aroma. The wine evolves and deepens in the glass, adding bright, zesty hints of creamy lemon meringue and tangy lemon curd.
The grapes for this wine were hand-picked from select vineyards in the Napa Valley. After coming into the cellar, they were hand-sorted, gently whole-cluster pressed, then fermented for about 45 days and aged entirely in French oak barrels, including 100% malolactic fermentation. This Chardonnay opens with notes of fresh-cut pears and orange blossoms that permeate the aroma. The wine evolves and deepens in the glass, adding bright, zesty hints of creamy lemon meringue and tangy lemon curd. On the inviting palate, the wine’s lively acidity is balanced with rich notes of pear, tangerine and baked apricot, wrapped up with a subtle kiss of caramel and vanilla on the playful finish.

| Winery | Pahlmeyer is based on the ridgeline of Atlas Peak, a location which guarantees their vineyard an enormous amount of sunlight. And that’s what it’s all about – sunlight and clean air. With all the fruit sources for their wines above 1400 ft, they gain an average of three hours more sunlight than vineyards in lower altitudes. These rich, warming rays produce deep, powerful and complex styles of wine. Cooler temperatures also prolong the growing season, allowing the clusters to hang longer on the vine and achieve optimal flavour development. Pahlmeyer is one of the great estates of Napa, and the Cellars are proud to be distributing them in the UK. Pahlmeyer comes in two flavours—the highly sought-after Estate Wines and the Jayson range. As their second label, Jayson uses the same fruit as the first range but from the parcels not picked for the upper wine. This generates an exceptionally high-quality wine at a decidedly friendlier price point! |
