- Delicate stone fruit aromas of white peach and refreshing grapefruit citrus notes lead to an elegant and refreshing palate. Bright fruit and wonderful texture. The extended finish is fresh and linear. I loved the 2021 vintage, but this 2022 is even more textural, layered and elite. Lindsay McCall is a genius. He is a grumpy one but a genius nonetheless, and his wine-making standards are so exacting that Paringa is one of the country’s most reliable and rewarding wine
The hand-picked fruit was a whole bunch pressed, and the unclarified juice was barrel fermented on its lees, with regular stirring to build weight and complexity. The wine did not undergo malolactic conversion, retaining a balancing crisp character. The wine was matured on its lees in oak for nine months prior to being bottled.
The nose shows lifted grapefruit and white peach notes, which are layered with flinty barrel ferment aromas. The palate is rich and textured, with plush fruit flavours and racy acidity.
