- Jeb Dunnuck 97 points: “The finest vintage to date, better even than the stellar 2010, the 2015 Crozes Hermitage Domaine De Thalabert is a gorgeous, deep, layered, and incredibly satisfying Crozes. Blackcurrants, olive tapenade, truffles and earthy notes emerge from this full-bodied, gorgeously textured and seamless 2015. It can be drunk today or cellaring for 15-20 years with fine tannin and no hard edges.”
Low terraces of the Rhône, stony and of glacial origin. The small rounded pebbles store heat during the day and release it at night

Winery | Domaine de Thalabert, property of Paul Jaboulet Aîné since 1834, is the oldest vineyard in the Appellation. The Crozes-Hermitage vineyard is the largest of the northern appellations. It extends over 11 communes in the Drôme, on the left bank of the Rhône. Convinced that the interactions of living organisms benefit the vineyard, favouring crop auxiliaries, among other things, we have set up the protection of the Clos Gounon ruin, its forest, and its meadow. This 7-hectare wildlife reservoir, in the heart of our Thalabert vineyard, is the first LPO biodiversity refuge in the Drôme. The entire vineyard is certified organic and cultivated with respect for the soil and the living ecosystem. We view viticulture as a long-term endeavour, a continuous quest to regenerate the environmental sphere, thus providing the means for terroir-driven fine wines to shine. |
