The grapes come from the Barbera d’Alba DOC, characterised by rolling hills cut by rivers and small bodies of water. Long ago, it was a coastal area, which can still be seen in the large presence of sand mixed with limestone that forms the soils, with the presence of fossilised shells. The grapes came from a sandy calcareous plot of 0.55 hectares, situated around the ideal elevation of 270 metres above sea level, with a south-westerly orientation. The vines are Guyot trained and cultivated with minimal intervention; treatments are as limited as possible, and minimal canopy management occurs. Manual harvesting takes place in small baskets to preserve the quality.
