The Pelissero Nubiola Langhe Barbaresco 2020 is an exceptional expression of Nebbiolo, showcasing the best characteristics of this iconic Piedmontese grape. It opens with a bouquet of sweet red fruit aromas, harmoniously complemented by classic floral notes and hints of dried herbs. The wine's medium-bodied profile boasts a velvety texture, while its slightly dry finish reflects the typical elegance of Nebbiolo.
After fermentation, the wine underwent a four-month maturation period, preserving the purity and authenticity of the Langhe terroir. This careful aging process ensures the preservation of the fresh, vibrant fruit character while allowing the wine to develop a well-rounded and nuanced complexity.
The 2020 vintage experienced a mild winter with minimal rainfall, followed by a dry, sunny spring. While May and June brought rains that slowed growth, these conditions were beneficial in providing the vines with ample water reserves. The standout feature of the 2020 growing season was the ideal September weather — dry and mild, which allowed the Nebbiolo grapes to ripen perfectly, ensuring optimal quality for this vintage.
