Piattelli Vineyards Cafayate Classic Malbec 2022 - 75cl Bottle
Product Description:
Discover the exceptional taste of the Piattelli Vineyards Cafayate Classic Malbec 2022, a premium Argentine red wine crafted from 100% Malbec grapes grown in the Salta region. This highly rated wine offers a perfect balance of ripe fruit flavours and freshness, making it an ideal choice for wine enthusiasts and casual drinkers alike.
The 2022 vintage reflects the region’s cool, smooth climate, contributing to its well-structured body and vibrant fruit profile. The wine opens with aromatic notes of ripe plum, blueberry, blackberry, and delicate violet aromas, enticing your senses right from the first pour. The palate delivers a harmonious blend of lively fruit flavours that are impeccably balanced, leading to a fresh, captivating finish that lingers on the tongue.
The conditions for the 2022 vintage were unique: a dry, cool spring, followed by a rainy February and cooler summer days. These elements allowed the grapes to ripen slowly and steadily, reaching peak ripeness during the warmer days of March. The result is a Malbec that showcases a fresh fruit expression with a tantalizing acidity, making it a standout choice for any occasion.

Winery | The vines are grown at a high altitude in Cafayate, situated 1,800 metres above sea level, surrounded by the Andes Mountains. Cafayate is one of the regions in the world suitable for viticulture, and this high altitude defines the region's terroir. The vines are exposed to intense sunlight, which results in the grapes forming thicker and darker skins to protect themselves from the ultraviolet rays, leading to more colour and flavour concentration in the grapes. The diurnal temperature difference results in an extended ripening season, producing concentrated grapes bursting with flavour but a balanced structure. Due to the dry weather, there are few incidences of disease or insects. The vines are trained on a trellis system and Vertical Shoot Position (VSP) pruning with bilateral cordons with spurs to ensure an even distribution of fruit. The vines are planted in sandy and stony soils and are sustainably cultivated; the vineyards are only treated with copper and sulphur, and weed control is undertaken by sheep. The grapes are hand-harvested. |
