- The Malbec is rich and inky, with blueberries, cedar, and spice aromas. It has a luxurious texture, excellent fruit concentration, and well-integrated oak, leading to a long, persistent finish. The dry and cool spring was followed by a rainy February. Cool, cloudy days extended the ripening period throughout the summer. However, temperatures rose in March, allowing the fruit to mature well. The 2022 wines are fresh, with good fruit expression balanced by tangy acidity.
- Awards Silver, IWC, 2022
Made from the fruit representing the best of the crop. The grapes were hand-picked and destemmed before being fermented in stainless steel tanks with selected yeasts. Post-fermentation maceration lasted for two weeks to extract fine tannins' flavour, colour, and structure. When fermentation was complete, the wine was racked to first-use French oak barrels, which went through malolactic conversion and were aged for 12 months.
A rich and inky Malbec full of blueberries, cedar, and spice aromas. Opulent, textured, with a wonderful fruit concentration and beautifully integrated oak, through to a long, persistent finish.

Winery | From high in the Andes surrounding Salta come Piattelli's Cafayate wines, grown at an elevation of over 1,795 metres. The distinctively colourful Argentinian mountains are formed of many geological layers. The splendour of this area is the pure water and extreme thermal amplitudes. The diurnal temperature differences create longer ripening periods, which concentrate the flavours in the grapes, with the cooler evenings encouraging a balancing freshness. Additionally, the grapes develop thicker skins to cope with the intensity of the UV rays at this altitude, which further concentrates the flavours in the wine. This makes this not only one of the most beautiful but also one of the premier grape-growing regions in the world. |
