  • A full-flavoured wine offering elegant aromas of ripe tropical fruits, citrus zest, and subtle herbal nuances. Dry, with a full texture on the palate through to an enticing hint of almond on the finish. The 2023 harvest was excellent qualitatively, with a dry summer and good temperature variations between day and night, producing concentrated fruit with a lovely balance. This year’s main problem was the strong heatwave at the end of July, which caused a lack of water and considerable stress for the vines. As a result, the production dropped by 15% compared to the previous year – which was already a small harvest.

The grapes underwent short pre-fermentation maceration. Fermentation took place at low temperatures in stainless steel tanks to preserve the purity of the fruit and lasted 15 days. The wine was aged in stainless steel tanks for three months on its fine lees, with gentle lees stirring every 10 days. This wine did not undergo malolactic conversion, retaining the natural, crisp style.

This is a full-flavoured, dry wine. It offers elegant aromas of ripe tropical fruits, citrus zest, and subtle herbal nuances, surrounding a fully textured palate and a delicious hint of almond on the finish.

Ala Blanca means white wing in Italian. "Here come the white wings" the children would cry as they watched the seagulls fly over the vineyard. Vermentino is the main white grape cultivated in Sardinia. It is presumed to have Spanish origins, but its ideal setting is north of Sardinia, where it can fully express its distinctive characteristics. The Mediterranean climate has frequent north-westerly winds, which help reduce disease pressure in the vineyard. The vineyard is located on gentle slopes between Alghero and Sassari, where the Guyot-trained vines are planted on American rootstocks at a density of 4,500 vines per hectare. The vineyard comprises two main soil types: sandy soils close to the sea, which are poor in nutrients but offer good water retention. The grapes here ripen perfectly and provide a distinctive saline note to the wine. The other is a limestone soil mixed with calcareous stone, which is richer and produces elegant and structured wines.
