Ruby red, the wine has aromas of bright red cherries, raspberries, and strawberries, complemented by subtle toasty notes. The well-rounded palate has attractive freshness and fine-grained tannins
VINEYARD The grapes come from Vinedos Don Antonio vineyard, planted on deep sandy soils. The grapes were harvested by hand. WINERY After rigorous sorting, the grapes were destemmed and fermented in small temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Spontaneous malolactic fermentation occurred in concrete, and the wine was then aged for nine months in French oak barrels.
Pulenta Estate was founded in 2002 by brothers Hugo and Eduardo Pulenta, fourth-generation winemakers, to translate their family legacy and their father’s pioneering spirit into a modern, innovative winery that produces limited quantities of great wines. They have quickly carved out a reputation for precise, elegant wines across a range of varieties and premium price points. The estate consists of two vineyards in key areas of Mendoza: Finca La Zulema in Agrelo and Viñedos Don Antonio in Los Arboles, a district of the Uco Valley. These contrasting vineyards have complex alluvial soils and distinct altitudes that help give Pulenta wines their distinctive style when blended. The signature style of Pulenta is built on finesse, silky texture and elegant fruit character while displaying the typical power and depth of fruit expected of Argentinian wines. Their range features youthful wines under the Bodega La Flor label, bottled and released after 3 months in oak. The estate reds see 12 months in new French oak and 12 months ageing in the bottle before release. The ‘Gran’ wines are at the top of the range, and the pinnacle is the Gran Corte, an impressive blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Tannat.
