  • It is a lovely amber colour with a darker, tawny core. Very intense and concentrated Colheita that presents a harmonious and prosperous mix of aromas. Spicy and raisiny notes together with toasted almond and younger fruity flavours. Some citrus notes combined with its minerality and velvety texture make for a vivacious and rich wine.

Fermented and foot trodden in lagares. Three years in large oak barrels (tonéis)
followed by 10 months in smaller 640 l. oak casks. From the exceptional vintage of 2007,
once crushed in the Lagares the grapes immediately showed excellent dark colour and
lovely aromas, with good sugar content and acidity. Fermentations were long and easy
to control. The first tastings revealed wines marked by elegance, finesse, and

outstanding balance, resulting in some wines being set aside to produce this Colheita.

The soils at Quinta da Romaneira are predominantly schist, with a laminated structure
that facilitates drainage and allows the vine roots to penetrate deeply to reach
nutrients and moisture. This soil type is poor in organic matter, promoting low vine yields and favouring high-quality grapes. The steep slope also
contributes to excellent sun exposure, ideal for the ripening of the grapes. The average
age of the vines is 20 years for red varieties and 15 years for white varieties. The entire
vineyard is grafted onto R99, R110 and 1103P rootstocks. Grapes are, by necessity, hand-harvested due to the steepness of the slopes.
