- A translucent pale golden colour. The aroma is striking, invigorating, subtly mineral, and bursting with fruity, delicate floral notes and nuanced hints of oak. Upon tasting, it reveals its fullness, accompanied by a refreshing acidity and a lingering finish.
50% is fermented using cultured yeasts in French oak barrels, 20% new, 30% seasoned,
with the rest in stainless steel. The four varieties are vinified separately for a period of 21
days at temperatures between 16 to 18 ºC. Batonnage is done for 3 months once a
week after fermentation, and malolactic fermentation is prevented.

Winery | The soils at Quinta da Romaneira are predominantly schist, with a laminated structure that facilitates drainage and allows the vine roots to penetrate deeply to reach nutrients and moisture. This soil type is poor in organic matter, promoting low vine yields and favouring high-quality grapes. The steep slopes also contribute to excellent sun exposure, which is ideal for the ripening of the grapes. The average age of the vines is 20 years for red varieties and 15 years for white varieties. The entire vineyard is grafted onto R99, R110 and 1103P rootstocks. Grapes are, by necessity, hand-harvested due to the steepness of the slopes. |
