- A deliciously fruity and easy-drinking wine bursting with vibrant red fruit, cherry and plum aromas underpinned by an appealing freshness. Smooth and juicy with a moreish, plummy finish. The Merlot grapes were gently macerated before being fermented with selected yeasts. Fermentation took place at cool temperatures to retain the fine aromas. During fermentation, the must was gently pumped over to extract the flavours, colour and soft tannins. Once fermentation was complete, the wine was aged in stainless steel tanks to retain its aromatics and fruit-forward character.

Winery | The grapes come from vineyards in two neighbouring villages: Saint Germain du Puch and Nérigean. The vineyards are located opposite Saint Emilion, on a plateau at around 70 metres elevation. The soils here are rich in clay, which imparts good water retention properties that help to sustain the vines during the warm summers. The high clay content also promotes the production of full-bodied, concentrated wines. The maritime climate is greatly influenced by the cooling breezes which flow in from the Atlantic and imbue the grapes with natural, balancing freshness. The vines are cultivated organically and are farmed without synthetic sprays; the vineyard has been converted to certification since 2020. The vineyard is also certified as Bee Friendly and great attention is paid to the pollinators within the vineyard. Careful canopy management takes place to maximise leaf cover and limit yields to concentrate the flavours in the grapes. The vines have been cultivated sustainably since the 1980s, with cover grasses, measures to ensure the optimum fertility of the soils and promotion of biodiversity to promote the longevity of the vineyard. |
