- The wine boasts a rich and intricate bouquet featuring delightful notes of cherry and blackberry intertwined with hints of sweet spice and earthy undertones. It exudes opulence and balance with a refreshing quality, polished tannins, and a lingering, elegant finish. An opulent, beautifully balanced Xinomavro with balancing freshness, expressive notes of cherry, blackberry and sweet spice through to a long finish. 2018 saw average snowfall in December and January, with light snow in February. The cold weather allowed the vine to rest, and the snow hydrated the soil. The summer was milder than average overall, with occasional summer rains resulting in balanced wines with lively, natural acidity.
The grapes underwent fermentation using a combination of native and cultivated yeasts in stainless steel tanks, preserving the fruit's natural freshness and purity. A gentle maceration process was employed to extract the desired color, flavor, and refined tannins. Following this, the wine was matured for 12 months in seasoned French oak barrels.
This exquisite wine boasts an intricate bouquet of aromas, including rich cherry and blackberry notes, accompanied by hints of sweet spice and vegetal nuances. It is opulent, with a harmonious interplay of refreshing acidity, refined tannins, and a luxuriously long finish.

Winery | The organically cultivated vineyard is located on the eastern slopes of Mount Cholomon, facing Mount Athos and the Syggitikos Gulf. The vines are grown at 200 to 500 meters, just a short distance from the Aegean Sea. Ocean breezes and calm, humid winds from the surrounding mountains at night strongly influence the vines. This temperate climate allows for natural, bright acidity and contributes to the seasonal hydration of the vines, allowing the precious natural resources to be used more sparingly. In addition to moderate watering, the shallow, sandy loam soil and the slate subsoil ensure low yields and concentrated juice. In contrast, the soil's high copper content and limestone provide a foundation for satisfying minerality. The vines are cane pruned, single—and double-Guyot trained, and the grapes reach excellent maturity with balanced acidity and good phenolic density. The grapes are 100% hand-harvested. |
