- This wine presents rich and concentrated aromas of ripe red cherries intertwined with subtle hints of spice and delicate floral notes. It boasts a full-bodied character with soft and refined tannins on the palate, delivering an elegant, silky texture that culminates in a smooth and velvety finish.
Vinified from a combination of dried and undried grapes. The undried grapes were destemmed and fermented immediately after the harvest. The dried grapes were allowed to dry gently in well-ventilated rooms for approximately four to five months, concentrating the flavours, sweetness and colour. The dried grapes were added later; they were fermented in stainless steel for one week, before being pressed at the end of December. The wine was then transferred to small barrels to finish fermentation. It was then matured in wood for eight to 10 months.
Concentrated aromas of red fruit cherries with a hint of spice and floral notes. It has a full-bodied palate with soft tannins, an elegant silky texture, and a velvety finish.

Winery | This wine is named after Campo Bastiglia, where the Ca Rugate vineyard is located in the hills around Montecchia di Crosara. The fruit is sourced from a selection of the best grapes. The vines yield 90 quintals per hectare and are grown in gravel and limestone soil. The harvest occurs manually during the last two weeks of September when the grapes have reached optimum maturity. The family business has been handed down through the generations of the Tessari family since the early 1900s. The estate was renamed Ca'Rugate in 1986, taking its name from the volcanic hills where the vineyards are located. Now run by the fourth generation, Michele has brought a lively, passionate, entrepreneurial spirit. Considerable expansion has occurred in recent years, with investment in a new technologically advanced cellar, expansion into the Valpolicella area, and the purchase of vineyards in the hilly zone of Montecchia di Crosara. The estate now covers 90 hectares of vineyard. Ca'Rugate has been awarded the prestigious 'Tre Bicchieri' award rating from Gambero Rosso multiple times, making it one of the most awarded producers in the competition and has been hailed by the New York Times as one of the "Top Five producers of High-End Soave". |
