- The wine is intensely ruby red and offers an aroma of fresh red fruits with subtle spicy nuances. Its taste is characterized by richness, fullness, and intensity, complemented by fine tannins contributing to its length, persistence, and substantial body. The ageing process involves the placement of the wine in French oak barriques for over five passages, which are then stored in natural caves within volcanic tufo rock. L'Atto is renowned for its refreshing, pleasing, and fragrant characteristics, featuring a solid structure and a full finish reminiscent of fresh fruits. Furthermore, it has been honoured with a "Gold Medal" at the renowned international competition "Berliner Wein Trophy 2023". The nose of the wine reveals hints of fresh red fruits, including black cherry, plum, blueberry, blackberry, and raspberry, along with subtle notes of violet, carob, and vanilla. On the palate, it delivers a fresh profile with discernible notes of black cherry, plum, and blueberry, complemented by soft tannins and a lingering finish.

Harvest: first ten days of October.
Vinification: maceration for approximately 5-6 days and fermentation in steel.
Maturation: French oak barrels were placed in natural volcanic tuff caves in the third passage.

| Winery | Cantine del Notaio is a relatively new winery located amidst the volcanic landscape of Mount Vulture. It was born in 1998 from the vision of Gerardo Giuratrabocchetti and his wife Marcella, who set out to restore the estate that once belonged to Gerardo’s grandfather. Thanks to biodynamic viticulture and great skill in the cellar, Cantine del Notaio has risen in this short space of time to be recognised as one of Basilicata’s greatest producers. |
