- This mature Brunello wine presents a sophisticated and nuanced bouquet with discernible notes of vanilla, deep red cherries, raspberry, and a touch of liquorice. Its elegance and well-textured nature complement a warm, smooth palate that culminates in a long and sustained finish.
Whole bunches were carefully selected and harvested at optimum maturity. Fermentation occurred in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats at 25°C, followed by maceration, which lasted 15 to 20 days, with frequent aeration, pump-overs and cap punch-downs for optimum polyphenolic extraction. The wine started going through malolactic conversion as the alcoholic fermentation finished and was completed a few days after being drawn off the lees. The wine was aged in Slovenian oak barrels for three years, followed by at least six months of bottle ageing.
A mature Brunello shows a decisive and fine bouquet of hints of vanilla, deep red cherries, raspberry, and a touch of liquorice. It is elegant and well-textured, with a warm, smooth palate that leads to a long, sustained finish.

Winery | Carpineto's Montalcino estate is one of the highest in the appellation at an altitude of 450 meters above sea level, with 10 hectares of vineyard planted to Sangiovese Grosso on a dry-farmed hillside. Planted at a density of 2.20 x 0.90 meters, equivalent to over 5,000 vines per hectare, the vines are trained on a unilateral cordon system. The sedimentary soil has a galestro frame with clay accumulations dating to the Eocene era, some 15 million years ago. With a slightly northern exposure, the vineyard is surrounded by thick woods, which protect it from the warm and humid westerly winds that come up from the Maremma. |
