- This particular varietal of Cabernet Franc has been rightfully distinguished with a gold medal. Its aroma is rich with sappy notes of blackcurrant and red cherry and subtle hints of tomato leaf. The wine exhibits a textured sensation on the palate due to its smooth, polished tannins. The nose is especially complex, exhibiting savoury and smoky elements, creating a truly captivating sensory experience.
Bodega Norton has five vineyards spread over the main terroirs of the province of Mendoza in the foothills of the Andes Mountains, all within a privileged zone known as the First Zone for the quality of its grapes. Geographic location influences not only the quality of our wines but also the age of our vines. Their average age is 30, but many hectares are planted with 80-year-old vines.

Winery | In 1885, the Buenos Aires to Mendoza railway opened, cementing the significance of this emerging wine-growing region high in the Andean foothills. One visitor to Mendoza, an English engineer called Edmund Norton, was so struck by the beauty and potential he saw there that he established a winery bearing his name and 1895 planted the first vines in Mendoza’s Luján de Cuyo district. Almost a century later, Gernot Langes-Swarovski was similarly struck by Mendoza and its vineyards; in 1989, he acquired Bodega Norton and transformed it into the world-renowned winery it is today. Both men rightly recognized the special nature of the area. The altitude moderates the temperature at 900-1,100 meters while exposing the vines to more ultraviolet light. The result is whites packed with a vibrant flavour, good natural acidity, and well-structured, food-friendly reds. |
