Spanish Rose Wine
Indulge in the delightful and invigorating experience of savouring crisp, bright, and delicately flavoured Spanish Rosé wines—truly refreshing. As in France, Grenache – here called Garnacha – comes up trumps for rosé, as does Tempranillo. Styles range from the traditional fuller style of the Valdemoreda through to a modern, dare we say, Provence-influenced blend in the Conde Valdemar.
Tandem
Tandem is the brainchild of José Maria Fraile and Alicia Eyaralar, two of the leading lights in the Navarra winemaking scene. Committed to making the best wines in the region with minimal intervention in the vineyards and winery, Tandem is cited by critics as ‘cutting edge’ Navarra. The grapes are cultivated in the heart of the Yerri Valley, recognised as the region's best area for quality wine. Respect for nature is an obsession - they follow the precepts of sustainable viticulture while maintaining the vineyard’s health and viability. A minimum intervention approach is also taken in the winery to ensure the grapes reflect their true character and terroir. In 2019, Tandem was certified vegan and accredited as the internationally recognised ‘V label’ by the European Vegetarian Union.
Bodegas Nodus
Driven by his passion for winemaking, Adolfo de las Heras Marín founded Bodegas y Viñedos de Utiel in 1985, acquiring one of the estates with the greatest ecological and oenological value in the Valencian Region: Finca El Renegado. The Finca includes a vineyard and a forest; 80% of the vineyard is dedicated to the native Bobal variety, and the vines are over 50 years old. Adolfo was also one of the first viticulturists to make high-quality bottled wine in the area. In the late 1990s, when his son, Adolfo de las Heras Polo, took over, he continued this philosophy and revolutionised the winery. He began to produce wines with greater ageing in barrels from different types of French oak that imbued the wines with greater complexity and distinction from Bodegas Nodus. The ‘El Renegado’ wines take their name from the estate and honour the centuries-old Holm oaks that grow there. The organic wine illustrates the purest expression of the Bobal variety.
Mesta
Mesta is a range of organically and sustainably grown single-varietal wines which stylishly showcase the Spanish wine revolution under the symbol of the Mesta. Mesta was a powerful alliance of sheep ranchers in medieval Castile who controlled the cañadas, the traditional rights of way for migrating sheep. To this day, the cañadas are protected from being blocked or built upon, a reminder of ancient rights and a model of coexistence with nature. This modern range, from the fashionable DO Uclés in central Castile, offers wines of great purity and varietal typicity.
