Lake Chalice Lake Chalice was established in 1989 with a vision of producing internationally recognised wines from the heart of the Marlborough region. New Zealand’s native falcon, the ‘Kārearea’, is proudly displayed on every bottle of Lake Chalice wine. Saint Clair Neal and Judy Ibbotson pioneered the Marlborough wine industry, planting vineyards in the valley in 1978 and establishing the Saint Clair Family Estate in 1994. They own 160 hectares of vineyard in 10 different Marlborough locations chosen specifically for their individual "terroir" attributes and ability to produce top-quality grapes. Neal Ibbotson combines his extensive expertise in viticulture with the talent of one of New Zealand's leading winemaking teams. The vines are sustainably cultivated, and the estate holds the Sustainable Wines of New Zealand certification. Since 1994, when wines from the first vintage all won medals, including gold, the name Saint Clair has been synonymous with quality, and its award-winning record continues today. Berton Vineyard The estate covers 30 hectares of land on gently rolling hills 450 metres above sea level in a subregion of Eden Valley in South Australia. The superb Reserve Shiraz and Reserve Chardonnay wines are still sourced from this plot. In 2007, Bob purchased the Yenda winery in the heart of the Riverina. This state-of-the-art facility can process 20,000 tonnes, enabling Berton Vineyard to produce value-for-money wines alongside its premium single-vineyard offerings.
