Rotem & Mounir Saouma Chateauneuf-du-Pape Omnia 2020
Rotem & Mounir Saouma Chateauneuf-du-Pape Omnia 2020
- Country France
- Region Rhone
- Case size 6/ 75cl
- Grenache-dominated blend sourced from multiple terroirs in the appellation. It has a crunchy, exotic style in its purple fruits, violets, spring flowers, and crushed rock-like aromas and flavours. I love its texture; it’s beautifully balanced, has notable concentration, and is just a classic, impeccably made-wine from this estate. Drink it over the coming decade or so.

Winery | The owners of stellar burgundy micro-negociant Lucien Le Moine have a side project: they have bought a few hectares in Chateauneuf-du-Pape. The style is fascinating and unique – very much Châteauneuf viewed through the prism of burgundy. The flavours are, of course, those of Grenache (white or red), but structurally, in their combination of delicacy and power, there is more than a little of the Cote d’Or grand cru about these wines. |
