- A velvety Saint-Joseph of delicious complexity, opulent notes of peony, wild blueberry, liquorice and tobacco enveloped a full-bodied yet refined palate with mineral undertones.
The fruit was hand-picked and carefully selected. 30% of the fruit was vinified as whole bunches, imparting structure and complexity to the wine. Fermentation took place spontaneously with wild yeasts. The wine was matured for 12 months in French oak casks, of which 20% were new, 40% were second use, and 40% in casks had been previously used for a combination of two or three wines, all imparting varying layers of complexity and bottled without filtration.

Winery | This cuvée is 100% Sérine, an ancient, small-berried, low-yielding heirloom Syrah native to the region renowned for its aromatic complexity and finesse. Louis Barruol attributes the classic smoky character in Northern Rhône wines to Sérine. The grapes are sourced from a vineyard in the commune of Malleval, where the vines thrive in the cold granitic soils. |
