A long, charming finish ensures that every sip lingers, leaving a lasting impression of elegance and quality.
How the 2020 Growing Season Shaped the Wine
The 2020 growing season in Burgundy began with an unusually mild winter, followed by a clement spring. The region experienced a hot and dry summer, with very low rainfall creating arid conditions. However, refreshing winds helped maintain the vines' health, keeping disease at bay. The early budburst and flowering caused by a particularly warm April meant an accelerated growing cycle, and harvest was earlier than usual. Despite the challenging conditions, this vintage exhibits remarkable balance and concentration, promising a wine that’s both intense and refined.

Winery | This Chassagne Montrachet is a blend of three different climates within the appellation, each imparting subtle nuances to the wine in terms of minerality, acidity, and body, resulting in complexity and balance. The old vines are grown in complex, stony clay and limestone soils and are densely planted. Cultivated according to the traditional methods, they are maintained with a large and aerated canopy for sun protection in the warmer vintages of late. They are sustainably farmed with practices such as using fresh compost from local farms to nourish the vines. General treatments include copper and sulfur, and mechanical ploughing occurs to maintain the vineyard soils. Hand-harvested at optimum maturity. |
