A Vintage Marked by Excellence
Following a challenging 2021, the 2022 vintage was marked by abundant growth and exceptional quality. The growing season began early, with bud-break in April, followed by flowering under warm, sunny conditions in June. A rapid fruit set and a hot, dry summer were punctuated by occasional rainfall, which helped refresh the vines. Winery | The Grand Cru Corton le Rognet is a single vineyard located on the eastern slopes of the Montagne de Corton hill, overlooking Ladoix-Serrigny village. The Pinot Noir grapes for this cuvee come from vines planted on a slope of 15 gradients, at 300 meters, where the nights are cool, which helps the grapes build aromatic complexity. The vines flourish in the clay and limestone soils. Cultivated according to the traditional methods, they are maintained with a large and aerated canopy for sun protection in the warmer vintages of late. They are sustainably farmed with practices such as using fresh compost from local farms to nourish the vines. General treatments include copper and sulphur, and mechanical ploughing occurs to maintain the vineyard soils. Hand harvested. |
