- A vivacious, fresh nose offers hawthorn, grapefruit, and pear aromas, underpinned by a light minerality and smokiness exclusive to the 2016 vintages. The palate is crisp and wonderfully precise. It is marked by citrus fruit and offers an excellent balance of structure and finesse. The complex finish is elegant and long.
The 2016 cuvée was produced only using the first press wines. Cool fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks before the wines were meticulously blended. The final cuvee underwent secondary fermentation in the bottle and was aged for more than five years in Taittinger's cool cellars, which unlocked its full potential. The Taittinger Brut Vintage comprises only wines from the first press, blending 50% Chardonnay and 50% Pinot Noir. A 5-year-long ageing period in the cellars unlocks its full potential.
The 2016 Brut Vintage exudes aromatic finesse, lively freshness, and exquisite precision. Orange blossom, floral notes, and white peach are layered with toasted almonds, leading to a smooth and richly fruited palate with chalky minerality.
