Our history in Sicily is written in the land we care for and has been handed down for eight generations. With the profound respect we owe to our tradition, we are always looking towards the future. Over the years, Capofaro has been added to the mother estate, Regaleali, in Salina, in the Aeolian archipelago; Tascante on Etna; the historic Whitaker estate on the ancient Mozia island; and Sallier de La Tour, in Monreale. In a precise valorisation project of the autochthonous varieties and the territories with the highest wine-growing vocation. Each productive nucleus has its marked personality and narrates an always different Sicily. Next to the vineyards are olive trees, wheat fields and almond trees. In the vegetable gardens, pastures, orchards, men and women work to help us keep pace with the seasons and give birth to the best products of Sicily. Each with its character, each with its rhythms. Today, the biggest challenge for us is to preserve these places and leave them intact for our children, which is a sign of constant attention to the protection of every ecosystem.

Winery | The large Regaleali estate, high in the central Sicilian hills, has been in the hands of the noble Tasca family since 1830. Ever since, the property has been run according to the best principles of the agricultural aristocracy, with one eye firmly on quality and the other on experimentation. Tasca’s large range is the product of the family’s most successful innovations, including short pruning for lower yields, the championing of local Inzolia and Nero d’Avola vines, the introduction of French varieties, and the use of barriques and temperature control. They have also been developing vineyards outside their main base at Regaleali. There is wonderful passito Malvasia made on the Aeolian island of Salina, and more recently, the family established their Tascante estate on the north-facing slopes of Mount Etna. The tradition and terroir of each location are captured with great clarity in the bottle. This is a singularly accomplished and increasingly complete range of Sicilian wines. |
