- Deep, intense ruby red colour. The nose expresses notes of red fruit like morello cherries, currants, and ripe pomegranates. The complex bouquet is completed by spicy hints of white pepper, liquorice, and balsamic notes of thyme and eucalyptus. The palate is refined with vibrant yet silky tannins. A lengthy and persistent finish delivers pleasant sensations of freshness and complexity.

Analytical data
Tormaresca is made up of two estates in different areas of Puglia: in the central, inland region of Castel del Monte, they have Aglianico, and in the Salento peninsula of the extreme south-east, Primitivo and Negroamaro. Cabernet and Chardonnay are grown in both zones, giving the winemaker a broad palette to blend the consistent entry-level wines. Antinori only invested here in 1998, yet in that time, Tormaresca has become a flagship of Puglian production:

Winery | The Bocca di Lupo estate is located in the northern Puglian countryside of Minervino Murge, in the DOC region of Castel del Monte, an area well known for its wild beauty. The vines grow at about 300 meters above sea level in the Murgia, an area with challenging climatic conditions and soils low in nutrients, meaning patient hard work is required to produce wines that are elegant, lively, and with well-defined precision. Certified organic winemaking is not simply a final objective but an opportunity. Local varietals like Aglianico, Nero di Troia and Fiano Pugliese represent the heart of the Castel del Monte agronomic history. They have worked to an unrivalled finesse since Antinori’s first investment in the region in the late 1990s. |
