The Tempranillo grapes were selected from estate vineyards in Torre de Oña, in the foothills of Sierra de Cantabria. The terroir, predominantly made up of limestone soils offers excellent drainage properties and produces grapes with great aromatic complexity and outstanding freshness. La Rioja Alta is committed to protecting the environment; in the limited vineyard treatments, they invest in clean energy sources and reuse water. Shelters have been installed in some vineyards for certain insects and arachnids that are beneficial for viticulture, thus promoting environmentally friendly plant health defence and increasing the biodiversity in the vineyards.
