- Overflowing with wild red berry fruit, this is layered with chocolate, ground coffee, hints of forest floor, and white pepper. It is smooth, harmonious, and elegantly fresh.
The grapes were harvested by hand and taken to the winery in small boxes to preserve the quality of the fruit. The bordelaise system of destemming was used, with gentle crushing, followed by alcoholic fermentation and, subsequently, malolactic conversion in tanks. Ageing began in January in New America (60%), and second-use oak barrels (40%) in France lasted 16 months. This wine was racked by hand three times using the traditional method.

Winery | The Tempranillo grapes were selected from estate vineyards in Torre de Oña, in the foothills of Sierra de Cantabria. The terroir, predominantly made up of limestone soils offers excellent drainage properties and produces grapes with great aromatic complexity and outstanding freshness. La Rioja Alta is committed to protecting the environment; in the limited vineyard treatments, they invest in clean energy sources and reuse water. Shelters have been installed in some vineyards for certain insects and arachnids that are beneficial for viticulture, thus promoting environmentally friendly plant health defence and increasing the biodiversity in the vineyards. |
