- The Premier Cru Montmains takes root on the left bank of the Serein, the river crossing the Chablis vineyard. This extended coast gives the wine characteristics alienating minerality and floral aromas. The colour is white gold with a green reflection. The nose has hints of citrus, grapefruit, and anise. The mouth is salty, chopped, dense, lemony, and refreshing with a nice length.

| Winery | The domain of Jean-Marc Brocard began as just one hectare, a wedding gift from his wine-growing father-in-law. He has since expanded to 200 hectares, of which half are organic or biodynamic, and is widely recognized as one of Chablis’s leading producers. The low-impact approach in the vineyard – ploughing in place of herbicides, predators instead of pesticides, manure rather than fertilizer, and as little spraying as the grapes’ health requires – is matched by a hands-off winemaking philosophy. The results are pure, unadorned expressions of the great chalk slopes of Chablis. |
