- It is an aromatic orange wine with delicate floral rose, quince, and apple notes. The palate is fresh, fruity, and harmonious, finishing with a little grip and leaving an impression of pleasant tension. 2023 is considered to be a classic vintage. The warm, dry summer was followed by a cool harvest period, which enabled the grapes to retain natural acidity and produce elegant, balanced wines.
This orange wine was produced without the addition of sulphites or yeasts. The grapes were macerated with the skins and seeds for three months; the pigment and tannins were released into the wine and imparted the coppery hue. The grapes were gently pressed to release the juice, which was fermented with natural yeast. The wine matured in a terracotta amphora, whose natural porosity provides oxygenation, reducing acidity and refining the tannins. The wine was aged in the amphora on its lees until bottling, which took place without fining and just a gentle filtration.

Winery | The grapes for the Amfòra cuvée come from vineyards between the Mediterranean Sea and the mountainous foothills. The Mediterranean climate, with its warm, dry summers and relatively mild winters, offers the vines excellent conditions to flourish. The high number of sunshine hours results in powerful, rich, aromatic, and fresh wines due to the tempering effects of the Mediterranean Sea. The soils are mostly clay-limestone and basaltic; the latter is a volcanic soil formed from ancient lava, which contains high proportions of iron and imparts a distinctive minerality to the wine. The vineyard is certified organic and HVE Level 3 certified for sustainability. Hedges surround the vines to protect them from pesticide treatments in the neighbouring fields and provide a wildlife refuge, enhancing biodiversity. Harvested in the cool of the night to retain freshness and at high ripeness levels to avoid any green flavours or bitterness. |
