The magnificent Haras de Pirque estate occupies a privileged position at the foot of the Andes in Chile’s Maipo Valley region. The lovingly tended vineyards are on largely north-facing slopes, from the middle of which rises a unique horseshoe-shaped gravity-flow winery inspired by the estate’s other claim to fame: as an internationally renowned thoroughbred breeding farm. Italy’s Antinori family now owns the wine side of Haras de Pirque, their chief winemaker Renzo Cotarella bringing his elegant sensibility to bear while respecting the character of this very particular terroir.

The grapes come from a mixture of the estate vineyard surrounding the winery and selected vineyards in the coastal Leyda region- The Sauvignon grapes were picked in March at three stages of ripeness to bring extra complexity and balance to the wine.
