- This is a fabulous, concentrated wine with apple and lime characters combined with white pepper, cardamom, and spicy minerality. It is balanced and refreshing.
100% of the fermentation took place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, with a minimal use of sulphur, to create a wine that ultimately expresses the terroir. A slight natural CO2 remained in the wine to lift and freshen the palate. 'Federspiel denotes that the wine has been made in the classic style, fresh and mineral, with a maximum of four grams of residual sugar.

Winery | The Gruner Veltliner vines are grown in Wachau, Austria's most prestigious viticultural area. The vineyard is located on the steep terraces of the Spitzer Valley and is close to the Danube. The temperature variation in the valley, with warmer days and cooler nights, has a significant role to play in the ripening of the berries. These diurnal temperature differences result in concentrated fruit with naturally high balancing acidity. The vines are grown in Gneiss soils, which are made of schist and granite and have a high mineral content. The yields are kept low at 25 hectolitres per hectare, and hand-selected bunches are harvested at optimal ripeness. |
