Old vines up to forty years of age yield a complex Riesling that generously expresses the profound minerality of this top site.
Rudi Pichler is motivated by the desire to recognize the characteristics of the various differing vineyard sites, articulate them, and preserve them in the finished wine. Wines of authenticity define themselves through the different soil types, age of vines, exposure/orientation, and microclimate.
