- A beautifully textured and creamy wine showing lifted green apple and grapefruit flavours complemented by a hint of vanilla cone. A great example of Alvarinho showing fresh and fruity aromas of apple, pear, and stone fruits, combined with mineral notes and floral hints. A refreshing, fruity palate with good weight, balancing acidity and buttery tones through to a long and aromatic finish.
The grapes were lightly pressed, and selected yeasts were used to start the fermentation. Vinification occurred in stainless steel tanks at cool temperatures of between 15 and 18°C, preserving the freshness and fruity aromatics in the wine. The wine was made without the influence of oak to retain the characteristics of the Alvarinho variety.
This is a great example of Alvarinho. It shows fresh and fruity aromas of apple, pear, and stone fruits, combined with mineral notes and floral hints. The palate is refreshing and fruity with good weight, balancing acidity and buttery tones to a long, aromatic finish.

Winery | The nine hectares of vineyard are split between two areas. The area surrounding the manor house used to be part of the Minho river bed and has clay-sandy soils, which offer good moisture retention to hydrate the vines through the warm summer. The vineyards in the S. Marcos hills have sandy soils of granitic origin. The grapes are hand-harvested at optimum maturity. Reguengo de Melgaço is a historic property located in the village of Paderne. Commissioned by Queen Leonor in the 16th century, it was bought in the 1900s by its current owners, who planted nine hectares of vineyards across two different vineyard sites. They released their first vintage in 2001, quickly establishing themselves as a benchmark Alvarinho producer. This aromatic variety has been well known locally for centuries, but only recently has Alvarinho become more appreciated by consumers outside the domestic market. Alvarinho expresses its full potential in the Moncao sub-region of Vinho Verde, showing aromatic complexity and a wonderful combination of fresh fruit and floral notes. |
